This new work derives from work carried out by an Art League School student, Kat Jamieson on her folded cuff pieces.
Having mentioned that the techniques could very easily be refined down in scale to a ring size, I played with the materials I had in the studio – black Delrin rod & PVC tube – the rod did not quite telescope well into the PVC tube, but with a little help from some blue painters tape, and a generous amount of epoxy, the two halves fitted beautifully. (I am in the process of refining these mechanics using stock rod & tube from suppliers)
The following pictures are the results of the initial play & further classroom development with Art League students. More to follow – hopefully soon.
